Yearly Events

CVCA sponsors two BIG annual cycling events each year. The first, "Up The Creek Without A Pedal" is held around mid-May and has become known as one of the best rides in our area. Cyclists from around the southeast have commented on the beautiful scenery, helpful staff and great support. The ride consists of 10-mile, 30-mile, 62-mile, and 100-mile options, with an average of 600 participants, a number that continues to grow.

Our second event is a nighttime event that takes place in late summer and is one that the entire family, from the youngest to the oldest, can enjoy. This ride, called the Dog Days Lunar Ride takes place from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the Mount Berry Square Mall in Rome. All entrances are blocked and the lighted, paved, one-mile perimeter around the mall is perfect for seeing exactly how many loops can be done before one collapses! Interior parking is blocked off for the youngest of riders (including those with training wheels!), so the environment is safe for all. Music, watermelon and lots of pizza make for an evening of entertainment that everyone can enjoy.

"After your first day of cycling, one dream is inevitable.  A memory of motion lingers in the muscles of your legs, and round and round they seem to go.  You ride through Dreamland on wonderful dream bicycles that change and grow."
